FAQ

What is the PANA Soccer League?

PANA Soccer League is an up and coming league bringing soccer to new and experienced players alike, offering a place to meet new friends through soccer. Our goal is to provide options that are well priced and organized, prioritizing safety and fun.

Where does it take place?

We are currently starting in Queens and Brooklyn, but our goal is to expand across the five boroughs, here in NY, and beyond.

What are the league prices?

Our current pricing is set to a standard $115, regardless of league, location, time or skill level. There are certain discounts per player, when folks register as a team (about a 5% discount).

Do you provide coed leagues?

Yes, our current divisions and leagues are all coed, with 1-female minimum players on the field.

What Skill levels do you offer to play?

We currently offer Beginner, Intermediate and advanced skill level leagues. You can see a more detailed breakdown of these leagues here.

What makes the PANA Soccer League different from other organized leagues?

As we start, we are focusing on the following value points that shake things up for our leagues:

  • One-female minimum requirements for co-ed leagues
  • Friday and weekend leagues across the day, to accommodate time slots not usually available
  • Winners get to play free the next season, BUT must move up a league level
  • Lower prices than most other similar 5v5 and 6v6 leagues

What is the format of the leagues?

  • 40-50 minute games
  • 5v5 or 6v6 players, with one female minimum for every team in the field
  • 10-12 players in a team sizes
  • 8 games played for each season, with qualifying teams making it to the playoffs, usually the top 3-4 teams make the playoffs
  • Bye weeks for certain dates (i.e. holidays)

How does registration work?

Players can register individually as free agents, or choose to join a small group or team, with names indicated in the registration form/process. Players can also request to play with their friends, as long as this is done prior to the start of the season, so we can adjust and move around players where needed.

Can I trial playing before committing?

Unfortunately this is not an option, as signup would require your commitment to support a team, and removing someone who decides not to sign up would create conflicts in filling out minimum requirements for teams to play.

Who can play in the PANA Soccer League?

Only players registered in the league can participate, as part of the team or as subs to support and backfill required players to start a game. Folks outside of the league that are not registered cannot play, as only those that have signed the waiver can participate.

I signed up but can no longer play in a league, are there refunds?

Refunds are possible, as long as the request is made prior to the season starting (a week before kickoff). Once teams are organized and the schedule is posted, we no longer provide refunds.

Is it okay to miss games?

Missing games is something common, as sometimes things come up -  as long as you inform your team ahead of time and organize so that games can continue, or forfeits are announced ahead of the game, then it is completely okay to miss. That said, we do ask that if you commit (with your money and signing up), that you do so as well with your time, as this helps the leagues and games play out as intended.

If there are changes to the schedule, are games then pushed out?

Yes, in general, if a game is on schedule but has to be cancelled, it will be pushed to the following week or to a new date/time that will be announced. This covers, a late season start, weather changes that force games to cancel, etc. Games are played with rain as it generally won’t affect play since we mainly play indoors, but if necessary, games may be cancelled and a notification will be shared with all league players.

What equipment is required to play?

The main requirements are soccer shoes that are not long cleats, metal cleats or spikes (turf shoes recommended), shin guards, and your team’s soccer jersey (with the respective color of your team). PANA Soccer League will provide every team with the number of jerseys for their respective team, on the first game of the season. We recommend arriving 15-20 minutes before start time to find your team’s shirts.
